GoSFI’s Lead Specialist, Thaveeporn Vasavakul, first visited Vietnam in 1987 and conducted her first research project there from 1988 to 1990. She has published on various aspects of governance reform in Vietnam since the early 1990s and has been involved in training, program- and project development, and facilitation work since 1998. Governance Support Facility Initiatives in Vietnam (GoSFI-VN), officially launched in January 2012, benefits directly from lessons learned through these experiences in country.
GoSFI-VN acknowledges the international experience in governance reform but also contends that lessons learned from Vietnam are relevant to other developing countries with similar challenges.
